Scope:
Radical Torque Solutions was approached by a customer seeking a more durable and reliable reaction solution for use on Komatsu 785 dump truck wheels. Over time, the standard paddle reaction arm used with their existing torque tool had become warped and cracked, prompting the need for a more robust alternative.

Challenge:
The original paddle-style reaction arm, while suitable for general use, was not ideal for the repetitive, high-stress environment of the Komatsu 785 wheel application. The customer required a solution that would improve tool stability, extend service life, and maintain safety standards.

Solution:
RTS designed and engineered a custom cup-style reaction arm to fit the end of the existing torque system. This modification provided a stronger, more controlled reaction point, eliminating stress on the paddle arm and significantly improving long-term performance.

Outcome:
The new design has proven to deliver a more stable and secure reaction, maintaining the integrity of the equipment and enhancing overall reliability for the customer’s operations.
