RTS-BW Magnetic Backup Wrench
Designed to prevent nut rotation during torque tightening and loosening, the RTS-BW Magnetic Backup Wrench provides a safe, hands-free alternative to conventional backup wrenches. Its slim, lightweight design improves access in confined spaces, while integrated magnets securely hold the wrench in position, reducing operator fatigue and improving productivity. Manufactured from heat-treated, high-strength steel, the RTS-BW Series is suitable for demanding industrial bolting applications and is available in metric sizes from 30–145 mm (imperial 1-1/4″–5-3/4″).
Operating Instructions
- Adjust the release bolt to suit the application (approximately 1/2″ extension as a starting point).
- Position the backup wrench on the nut and rotate until the release bolt contacts a suitable reaction point.
- If required, extend the release bolt slightly to achieve secure contact.
- Complete the torque operation using the hydraulic torque wrench.
- Loosen the release bolt with a manual wrench and remove the backup wrench before moving to the next fastener.
